Terms of Service

Version 2026-03-12 · Effective 2026-03-12

These terms govern your use of FiniteHour. By creating an account, you agree to them. We've written them to be clear and fair — if anything feels unclear, email us.

1. What FiniteHour is (and isn't)

FiniteHour is an informational tool that helps you understand the relationship between your time and your money. The calculations and figures it shows are estimates based on the data you provide — they are not audited, verified, or guaranteed to be accurate.

FiniteHour is not a financial advisor, tax advisor, investment advisor, or legal advisor. Nothing in the app constitutes financial, tax, investment, or legal advice. FiniteHour is not registered as a financial advisor in any jurisdiction. For decisions about your finances, taxes, investments, or legal matters, consult a qualified professional.

2. Account responsibilities

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Don't share your password. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately. You agree to provide accurate information when setting up your account and to keep it up to date. Each trial is limited to one per person — creating multiple accounts to extend a free trial is not permitted.

3. Age restriction

You must be at least 18 years old to use FiniteHour. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If we discover that an account was created by someone under 18, we will close it.

4. Acceptable use

Use FiniteHour for its intended purpose: understanding your personal finances. You agree not to: enter fraudulent or fabricated data to manipulate results; scrape, copy, or reverse-engineer the application; or use the household invite feature to surveil or monitor another person without their knowledge and genuine consent.

5. Trial & subscription

Free trial. New accounts include a 14-day free trial. No payment method is required to start. When the trial ends, your access is restricted until you choose a subscription plan — there are no automatic charges.

Subscribing. When you subscribe, you'll choose a billing period (monthly or annual) and a plan. The price and billing cadence are shown clearly at checkout before any charge is made. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from Settings › Billing › Cancel subscription. Cancellation stops future charges. Your access continues until the end of the current billing period, then your account returns to restricted access.

One trial per person. The free trial is limited to one per person or household. Creating multiple accounts to access additional trials is not permitted.

6. Refund policy

We do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial billing periods. If you cancel mid-period, you retain access until the period ends — you won't receive a refund for unused days.

Unwanted renewal. If you were charged for a renewal you didn't intend, contact us at support@finitehour.com within 48 hours of the charge, and we'll issue a full refund. We aim to process refund requests within 5 business days; your bank may take additional time to reflect the credit.

7. Billing disputes

If you have a question about a charge, contact us at support@finitehour.com within 30 days of the charge. We respond to billing inquiries within 5 business days. We'd much rather resolve a billing issue directly than have you dispute it with your card issuer — please reach out first.

8. Household feature

The household feature lets you share financial data with people in your household. By inviting someone, you grant them access to shared financial information. You are responsible for ensuring the person you invite has genuinely consented to joining and sharing data with you. Do not use this feature to access someone's financial information without their knowledge.

When a household member leaves or is removed, their personal data is removed from the shared household. Shared data — such as joint transactions entered by multiple members — is retained for the remaining members. If you delete your account while in a household, your personal financial data is removed within 30 days.

9. Data accuracy

FiniteHour's calculations are only as accurate as the data you enter. We do not verify any information you provide. Numbers shown in the app are estimates — they may not reflect taxes, employer deductions, or other factors specific to your situation. Do not rely on them for financial or legal decisions without independent verification.

10. Intellectual property

FiniteHour and its content — including the design, code, text, and brand — belong to us. You may use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of it without our written permission. Your financial data belongs to you.

11. Limitation of liability

FiniteHour is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including any financial decisions made based on information shown in it. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Your personal data will be removed within 30 days. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. Billing records may be retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance, even after account closure.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which FiniteHour is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be settled by binding individual arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You and FiniteHour each waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class-action lawsuit. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking relief in small claims court for disputes within that court's jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these terms

We version these terms and will notify you of material changes before they take effect. The version number and effective date are shown at the top of this page. Continued use of FiniteHour after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
